On September 8, 2025, Krisp Technologies, Inc. filed a motion to dismiss key claims in the lawsuit brought by Sanas.AI Inc. (“Sanas”), including claims of trade secret misappropriation and co-inventorship. Krisp also submitted a formal response denying Sanas’ claims and filed a countersuit alleging patent infringement and unfair competition by Sanas.
Krisp asserts that Sanas’ claims are entirely without merit. The company did not misappropriate any trade secrets or infringe on Sanas’ intellectual property. Krisp’s Accent Conversion technology, developed independently over several years, powers real-time communications for over a thousand companies worldwide.
The engagement between Krisp and Sanas in 2021–2022 was brief and unproductive. Sanas never shared its technology or provided confidential information. After nearly a year of stalled discussions, Krisp ended the talks, citing limited technical performance and visibility and a business misalignment that posed risks to customer relationships. Krisp went on to develop its own Accent Conversion solution, which has since gained broad market adoption.
According to Krisp’s countersuit, after the discussions ended, Sanas reproduced Krisp’s patented noise cancellation technology and began advertising that it was “free” in an attempt to attract Krisp’s customers and promote its own accent translation product. Krisp alleges these actions constitute patent infringement and unfair business practices.
“Krisp is a leading innovator in real-time Voice AI, with a proven track record in deploying patented noise cancellation and accent conversion technologies trusted by over a thousand companies worldwide,” said Davit Baghdasaryan, Co-Founder and CEO of Krisp.
“Sanas’ claims are without merit and appear to be an attempt to slow down a stronger competitor through litigation. Krisp’s Accent Conversion technology was developed entirely in-house following years of research and development, and Krisp is confident in the strength of its independently-developed technology. We will defend the hard work and innovation of our team.”
